The British Rail class 47's were built by Brush Traction between 1962 and 1968. A total of 512 locomotives were constructed making them the largest class of British mainline diesel.
Once a familiar site on many parts of the British Rail network, the early 00s saw a rapid decline in their numbers as a combination of new electric and diesel units took over passenger work and the class 66 their freight duties.
This exclusive DVD features footage of over 250 different class 47s filmed between 1995 & 2002.
