Hatfield & Stainforth is a small station in South Yorkshire located on a busy freight route to and from Doncaster, Scunthorpe, Immingham and Hull.
Adjacent to the station is Hatfield Colliery which sees a steady stream of merry-go-round trains hauled by a variety of motive power.
Filmed during two visits in July and August 1999 we see no less than 62 trains, featuring classes 37, 43, 56, 58, 60 & 66.
Liveries are equally as varied and include EWS, GNER, Loadhaul, Mainline, Railfreight & Transrail.
A variety of freight including merry-go-round coal, engineers wagons, LPG tankers, oil tankers, mixed freight and rubbish containers.
A few highlights include triple-headed with two Class 56 and a Class 37, double headed Class 37's on freight and British Steel livery 60006.
The footage lasts for approximately 70 minutes (1 hour 10 minutes).
