The Power of the Class 08 & 09 - Railway DVD
A total of 986 class 08's were built by British Rail between 1952-62. In contrast the class 09's were built between 1959-62 and numbered only 26 locomotives.
The class 09 is very similar to the class 08 but have different gearing giving a top speed of 27.5mph.
Once a familiar site at stations and freight yards across the country, their numbers have steadily declined with withdrawals followed by scrapping, or sale to industrial and heritage railways.
This exclusive DVD features footage of these locomotives in yards and trip workings between 1995 - 2002.
Filming locations include Derby, Didcot Parkway, Doncaster, Eastleigh, Newport, Southampton, Westbury & Willesden.
Liveries include British Rail Blue, British Rail Green, EWS, Maintrain Blue & Railfreight Grey.
