Shunter Black's Night Off (1941)

Shunter Black's Night Off was filmed in 1941 and features the shunting activities of a wagon chaser named Joe Black at the sidings in the Midlands. The film depicts an air raid during world war two with incendury devices landing in the yard and the crew tackling fires. One wagon on fire is next to a box wagon loaded with ammunition, Joe runs to the engine shed to get a locomotive to shunt the wagons clear, the locomotive is a Southern Railway N class number 1414. They couple up and try to get the wagon to the water tower as it had caught fire before they arrived. A superb WW2 film.
