Train-Inspired Playroom for Your Boys

If your young boy or man who is a boy at heart has a fascination for trains and railways, give him a favour by bringing his dream into reality and by decorating his bedroom using trains as a theme. Here are a few steps in decorating or redecorating the room.

First, follow a certain colour scheme for the room. It will be more appealing when you have a certain hue/shade design rather than drowning the whole place with all the colours found in the colour chart. Balance the shades of colour and use bold tones like red, blue and yellow.

Second, keep in mind a visual pattern like certain drawings and sketches. Imitate shapes used in an actual train design. Shapes such as circles, triangles, and squares gives a subtle reference to the real train itself. Be as edgy as possible in drafting these diagrams and schemes.

Third, use miniaturised chunk and parts of trains. Of course, do not hassle yourself by using the expensive and bulky real ones! Find someone who can construct a decorative copy of these pieces so you can deftly arrange them in the room. Most of the times, these elements are even available in toy shops and home improvement stores.

Again, make sure that the patterns are in cohesion. It all depends on how you approach the design of the room. If you are a minimalist, limit yourself with the "three-colour (or less) and minimalistic shapes" concept. If you want a flashier look, try not overdoing it by combining four or more art genres or styles unless you think you can pull it off. Pull this train motif though and you are sure to make your little boy's dream come true!
